We have been working with former student Nik Hill and former teacher Michael Collins to organise a Club 1541 French trip for September 2026, to visit Battlefields from the Great War.
Mr Collins is now a certified tour guide in Ypres and has kindly put together a schedule which could take a group around some of the most important scenes from WW1, with him giving his fascinating insights and bringing the fields to life. Leaving from King's on Thursday 2rd September, staying in Dover before taking the ferry the next morning, and returning on Monday 7th.
Staying in twin rooms in a hotel in Ypres, the costs will depend on how many people sign-up. Below are estimates of what the trip will cost:
If 15 people sign up - £735
20 people - £615
24 people (max) - £540
If you are interested in coming on this trip, please email George Smith via g.smith@thekingsschool.co.uk
Once we know interest levels, we will organise a talk from Mr Collins here at King's for people to come and learn more information, before formally signing up.
We hope you'll agree that this will be a remarkable trip and hope that you consider registering your interest.
