In the latest of our Club 1541 bio interviews, we sat down with former Gloucester Rugby player Will Graulich about his life after King's and his new business venture.

Hi Will, thank you for your time! To start off, when were you at King's?

I joined in 2003 and left in 2011.

Which House were you in?

Wheeler

What are your favourite memories from your time at King's?

Without a doubt it would have to be the sports tour to Barbados. An amazing experience in a beautiful place with memories made for life!

What did you do after leaving school and where has your career taken you?

After leaving school I was fortunate enough to sign my first contract with Gloucester Rugby before also playing for the Cornish Pirates. Post rugby, I moved into the automotive industry where I started selling cars. From there I went on to roles including Business Manager, Sales Manager and Sales Operations Manager. The opportunity came up to take on a local business, Greenfields, so I took the tough decision to leave my career and pursue life as a business owner.

How did you find the adjustment from Rugby to the business world?

Rugby instils great values that can be transferred to the business world such as teamwork, interpersonal skills and hard work. The most important thing was for me to surround myself with a good team as that was where I felt most comfortable - just as in my Rugby life!

Congratulations on your new role! Tell us about your company and what you will be doing?

Greenfields is a great company which has been operating within Gloucestershire for nearly 30 years. We have five departments: Landscaping, Fencing, Playgrounds, Tree Surgery and Grounds Maintenance and we offer services in both the public and private sectors. My role within the company is Managing Director and it is my job to build on the great reputation of the company and secure a future where the company can grow.

How can Club 1541 members get in touch with you if they are interested in Greenfields' services?

I am always keen to hear from all Club 1541 members and would love to help where I can. Please feel free to get in touch with me via 07507858012 or will@greenfieldsltd.co.uk

What does the future hold?

Hopefully seeing the success of the company and allowing it to reach its full potential. Outside of work, I hope it offers more of the same. I have a great wife, Melza, who also attended King's and a great set of friends who are all former King's students.

And finally, if you could give one piece of advice to the current sixth formers about to join the real world, what would it be?

Be inquisitive and learn as much as you can from those who have lived it. Push yourself, work harder than everyone else and you will get to where you want.
