New School Museum set to open and a chance to help digitalise your time at King's

We are very excited to announce that a new and improved School Museum will be opening this Trinity Term, curated by King's legend David Evans.

Having worked at King's for nearly 40 years, including many years at Deputy Head, Mr Evans is now our School Archivist and has been working incredibly hard to move, improve and grow the display of our school's history. It will still be housed in Little Cloister House, near the entrance to the Cloisters, and will officially open on our Back to School Day on Wednesday 2nd July. Click here for more details of that very special event and to sign-up.

Following that opening event, Mr Evans will be offering weekly tours of the Museum during term time, with more details and an invitation to come soon!

As well as our brilliant new Museum, we will also be working on a campaign to grow our Digital Archive, but we need your support.

Visit the King's Digital Archive by clicking here, to view the end of year School Magazines dating all the way back to the 1950s.

As you will see, we haven't been able to digitalise every magazine yet, but with several very generous donations we are on our way! If you take a look at the site and notice that any of the magazines or 'Yearbooks' from your time at King's aren't on there, and are interested in supporting our campaign, please email George Smith via g.smith@thekingsschool.co.uk to discuss options.

The magazines or 'Yearbooks' range from around 60 pages to 120 and the digitalisation and indexing process, which allows you to search for your name or areas of school life that interested you, costs £1 per page. We have had individuals, families and even groups of school friends grouping together to help ensure their time at King's will be available to enjoy online forever!
