We are pleased to announce that Callum Darke and Nathan Williams have been appointed as captain's for this year's Club 1541 vs Headmaster's XV Rugby match, taking place on Sunday 11th December at Archdeacon Meadow. If you are interested in playing for either team, please let me know by emailing g.smith@thekingsschool.co.uk.
Stay tuned later this week for news of the captain of the Club 1541 Girls' Hockey team that will be taking on the King's 1st XI on the same day.

Callum, who left King's in 2017, will captain the Club 1541 side consisting mainly of players coached by Mr Phillips. Callum played is last year's win for Club 1541 and commented, "I'm really looking forward to playing again this year, the match last year was brilliant and we are keen to keep hold of the cup for another year!"

Nathan, part of the Class of 2021, will captains the Headmaster's XV, made up of mainly players coached by Mr Barr. Nathan also played last year (pictures above with Callum) and said, "Last year's loss was slightly controversial and we are looking forward to putting things right this year. It was great fun and I'm really looking forward to catching up with everyone. The crowd last year was amazing so hopefully we can have lots of people there watching again."

As alluded to by Nathan, last year's match ended with a disallowed try in the last seconds! Let's hope for a similiarly exciting match this year. The cup both teams will be playing for is the Freeman Cup thanks to the kind donation made by the Freeman family earlier this year.

It would be great to have a large crowd there to watch once more so even if you aren't playing, please come along to watch. The day starts with the Club 1541 vs Girls' 1st XI Hockey match which starts at 10.30am before the Rugby kicks off at 12pm. Refreshements will be served all day in the Cricket Pavillion and parking is available in the main school car park, accessible via Gouda Way.
