This week saw the school come to an end with a stunning Speech Day in the sun. Taking place in the Cathedral, the ceremony included beautiful musical pieces, prize giving and a rousing rendition of the school song. After a short break for refreshments, guests returned to the Cathedral for the End of Year Service. The leaving Year 13s then had one last goodbye in the Dulverton gardens with confetti cannons to salute them on their way to the next chapter of their lives.
The Guest of Honour this year was Dr Susie Imber. She describes herself as a 'Space Scientist, Mountaineer and Explorer' and is currently Associate Professor of Planetary Science at the University of Leicester. You may have seen on the BBC Show 'Astronauts: have you got what it takes?' where she was crowed the winner! Her speech was incredibly inspiring and she took the time to speak with many guests throughout the day.
