Foundation Day - Thursday 9th July 2026
I am very much looking forward to welcoming you to Foundation Day on Thursday 9th July. We are looking forward to another wonderful Foundation Day to round off a successful 485th anniversary year at King’s.
I am delighted to announce that this year’s Guest of Honour will be a former King’s pupil, Stuart Boreham. With this being our 485th anniversary year, I felt that it would be good to remind our pupils that they can aspire to great heights in the future. Stuart has cerebral palsy, yet he managed to row solo, unaccompanied and unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean in 2003, thus becoming a Guiness world-record holder. Stuart will share photos from his remarkable rowing adventure, as well as reflect on the life skills which he learned at King’s. I hope that hearing a member of Club 1541 speak will be an education and an inspiration to our school community on 9th July. As always, Stuart will remain in school all day to chat to staff, pupils and parents.
Here is the Club 1541 schedule for the day:
Please arrive in the Cathedral by 10.45am through the main door.
11am - Prize-giving in the Nave including speech from our Guest of Honour.
12.15pm - Whole School End of Year Service in Nave & Quire.
1pm - End of Formal Events.
1.15pm - An afternoon of fun on Paddock with our Pimm's tent, pizza ovens, coffee vans, fabulous brownies and ice cream.
3.30pm - End of the day and school year.
If you would like to attend, even if just for part of the day, please click above to sign-up.
We look forward to welcoming you back to King's for a day of fun to finish the school year on a high!
Yours sincerely,
David Morton
