An invitation from our Director of Music, John Pennington:
I hope many of you will again sing in the King’s Community Choir as we prepare for the Lent Term Concert in February 2023. The main work will be Vivaldi’s Magnificat. This is a joyful and uplifting work – and not too challenging! We will also be learning Paul Haley’s Agnus Dei – a very moving piece for choir, soprano saxophone, piano and organ.
The Community Choir is open to all parents and staff of the King’s Community, as well as all members of Club 1541. Some experience of singing and reading music is preferable, though not essential. The usual £1 fee per rehearsal will be required which goes towards the hire of music as well as helping to fund concerts. This contribution is made by way of an ‘honesty’ box upon arrival.
The rehearsal schedule is set our below. If you are new to the school please do come along and give it a try, it will give you the opportunity to sing along side our superb Chapel Choir in the fantastic setting of the Cathedral. Rehearsals take place in the school Hall - I very much look forward to welcoming you all. If you have any questions, please email me via j.pennington@thekingsschool.co.uk
